Can you stain over Thompsons waterseal?

I've never tried that as it's not generally done. Staining is usually done before sealing. You'll have to remove the Thompson's before you stain unless it has been long enough that the Thompson's is no longer effective. To test to see if the surface will take stain, spray some water on it. If it beads up, it will not accept a stain.

The Simplicity of a Wood Deck?

There is something lovely and simple about a beautiful, solid wood deck. This type of deck is still popular because they look great over long periods of time and are not expensive to build. You can stain or seal a wood deck to create the finish that you desire. Make sure that you choose a type of wood that you like when selecting the lumber for your wood deck. Some varieties are more expensive but worth the cost because of their durability and beauty.

Can you stain concrete with wood stain?

Yes you can use wood stain on concrete but it will not penetrate the concrete, it does look nice and you can use different shades together. To keep the stain on it use a concrete sealer in a couple coats, it will give it a shiny wet look. I have tried it with fake wood only because where I live I can't get concrete stain. And it looks great.

How long does it take stain to dry completely?

It depends on the type of stain you are using, usually the label contains the correct information, oil based stain generally takes 24 hours, water based takes less time, alcohol based takes even less time. If there is no label, it could be old stain and it might not mix well with your finish. your best bet would be to discard and buy new stain to match with your finish. (water based stain with water based finish, and, oil based stain with oil based finish)

How do you oil Kwila decking?

Initially to prevent the stain from Kwila decking from leaching out over a long period before you can oil it, just get a bucket of water and add about 1 kg of Napisan. Available at all supermarkets. Use a stiff brush, pour the dissolved Napisan and water mix over the decking and scrub well in. Leave overnight. Next day hose off any excess liquid, and repeat the process. Allow your deck to dry for several days before you apply decking oil. Incidentally if your deck is close to a house wall, and it rains after your deck has been laid, you may get stain from the wood splashed up onto the wall, just mix a small bowl of Napisan and water, scrub on and the stain will quickly disappear, it will not affect your paintwork. If you require a really nice maintenance free deck, use palm oil as your deck oil, mixed with10% turpentine to prevent it going semi solid at room temperature, apply generously for 3 consecutive days, you will have a beautiful deck for at least 3 years with no further oiling, under normal conditions. I hope this is of assistance to you. Enjoy your outdoor living! Bob R.

Can you put a swimming pool 10ft round 30in deep that holds 999 gal of water on a 15x20ft deck?

A thousand gallons of water weighs a little under four long tons. There's no fundamental reason you couldn't put it on a deck, if the deck is strong enough to support those four long tons plus whatever else you've got on the deck.

What eats the Thompson Gazelle?

Thompsons gazelles' can run pretty quick at about 45 mph, few animals can catch them. Cheetahs are the main predator of the thompsons gazelle. Cheetahs eat them because they are small, slow to a cheetah, and are not very strong. The leopard is also a predator of the thompsons gazelle. Instead of a long chase the leopard waits for the gazelle to come to him. African wild dogs hunt in packs and can easily take down a thompsons gazelle. Baboons will target young or sick or slow moving adults. Hyenas are not fast enough to catch a thompsons gazelle. Jackals may look small, but they are just as fast and nimble as a thompsons gazelle, but they take some time to overpower the gazelle. Lions catch them when they can. Crocodiles very easily snatch gazelles when they are drinking or when in the water. Don't underestimate the thompsons gazelle though. They can escape a cheetah if they really need to. They are more agile and nimble then a cheetah. They are able to make a full u turn while being chased, and can keep running after a cheetah has already stopped.

How long does it take for stain to dry completely?

Depending on the stain technique it can take anywhere from 2 to 24-hours for the stain to dry. For cabinets, you should wait the entire 24-hours to make sure the stain is not still tacky and to prevent smudges on the finish.
