It is virtually impossible to state a number since most of Michelangelo's works ar part of large undertakings. or instance he built the Medici Chapel in the church San Lorenzo in Florence. It contains two sculptured tombs and three free-standing sculptures. Is the work in the Sistine Chapel (ceiling and front wall) to be considered as one work? And so on.
