Very hard question to answer within any degree of accuracy since all shops have the potential to charge more or less depending on the skill set of their artists, shop name, or just the business practices therein. If you are wanting this done in black and grey, you are most likely looking at $450-$500 for the size that you are talking in addition to the fact that for it to look really good and lifelike, there will have to be a lot of feather detailing and coats of greywash to get the right saturation. For it to be in color…add another $150-$200 to the aforementioned quote. Once again, this is not necessarily how much it will cost, but it is a fairly good guestimate. As far as the time to do it…roughly 4-5 hours for greywash potentially split between two sittings, and around 7-8 hours for color which will be split up into two sessions most likely. This is all quite dependant on the speed of your artist, and a lot of times, the time that it takes them to complete a large tattoo will be the overall determiner of price as opposed to a set charge for the piece.
