Fabrege sculpted the famous eggs from fine metals and exquisite jewel quality stones. None were ever made in China. The "Fabrege" name has long been attached to creations of this sort as an indicator or description of style, similar to how the name "Tiffany" is used, rather than denoting the true provenance of the creation. If it came from the Franklin Mint it's NOT a Fabrege egg. It's a creation crafted in the style of those eggs made for the wife of Nicholas, last Tsar of Russia, by artisans of the Franklin Mint or others. As a general rule of thumb, creations from the various "mints" that deal in collectibles are priced at the top of their value and can usually only be resold for from 1/3 to as much as 3/4 of their original price. Sometimes a very modest profit can be made but seldom.A true Fabrege Egg would be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars but few exist outside of museum collections. I believe that fewer than 30 were made, each an exquisite work of unique art. They were birthday gifts for the Tsarina.

Depends...which one do you have? The Faberge Imperial Musical Carousel Egg was about 11" tall / 6" diameter. By the Franklin Mint. White with gold trim & 4 horses. Plays "Emperor's Waltz" limited to #9,500 worldwide. Originally sold for $495.00. What it's worth depends on the condition of it, if you still have the box & paperwork. And keep in mind...the economy is not very good right now. Then there is the: Faberge Imperial Gatchina Palace Carousel Egg. about 3 1/2" tall. Sells new for about $650.00 Then there is the: Faberge Imperial Rose Trellis Musical Egg. About 7" tall, lime green in color with a little carousel in the middle. Sells new for $4,000. I might be intrested if you're selling. colleen9@mchsi.com

Depends very much on whether is "looks like" a dinosaur egg or IS a dinosaur egg. A dinosaur egg, after all, looks quite a bit like a rock.
