strong magnetic field deflects charged particle radiation around the earthozone layer absorbs much of the ultraviolet electromagnetic radiation as it enters the atmosphere
I have heard the radiation from a CT scan is the same as 700 chest X-Rays. No level of radiation was given. If this is true do you think the people that make the CT scanners want you to know this?
It depends on the specific assignment of the tech, and on the respect of security standards by the technologist and by the state of the equipment and facilities being used. A poorly trained, sloppy individual in a poorly maintained facility will be exposed unduly. A well trained individual observing careful technique in a good facility will not be exposed to much, if any, radiation. It's all in the details.
No it just gives you pains if u eat too much especially your leg :)
About 55 pounds.
Granite counter tops offer many advantages over a standard counter top. The material is very strong and will surely last much longer and take more abuse than a laminate counter. Granite is also a very tight material and after polished and sealed it is very easy to clean, and resists stains.
The cost will vaey on size on your counters and kind of granite. It is about $4.00 per square foot, for black granite 3/8" thick for materials only.
Your looking to pay around $29 per sq ft with installation for granite countertops.
A granite countertop that is thicker will be more durable, but the cost increases linearly with the thickness. The installation cost won't change much, because that's mostly labor rather than materials. Granite counter tops average about 1 inch in thickness. Any thinner and the granite is much too brittle. Any thicker and the costs sky rocket due to increased weight and materials cost.
A Geiger counter, invented by Hans Geiger, detects ionizing radiation such as alpha and beta particles, gamma rays, and X-rays. It works by measuring the ionization produced in a gas by the radiation, producing an audible click or visual display to indicate the presence of radiation.
They make a house look much more modern. I understand it can increase your home value by at least $3000.
A good quality kitchen counter can cost $10-$50 per sqaure foot. Materials that should be considered are granite, formica, and marble for durability and quality considerations.
Granite counter tops cost 48$-150$ per sq. foot Granite tile cost $4-$20 per sq. foot. The price of granite very's so much that it mostly depends on the type of granite. Example:Granite tile price's at home depot:$5.00 sq. foot for black granite$7.00 sq. foot for Brazilian green granite$10.99 sq. foot for tan brown graniteand for counter tops, it cost $48.00 sq foot. at the lowest.Note: prices are of 6/28/10 this is not from home depot. And the price of granite changes from year to year.
No, granite is a hard and durable rock that is typically too hard to be scratched by a fingernail. Fingernails have a hardness of around 2.5 on the Mohs scale, while granite typically falls between 6 to 7 on the scale, making it much harder than a fingernail.
It does. All granite has some detectable radiation emission (above so-called background radiation). The question of "how much" is answered by measurement. Employ someone to test your granite or buy a sensitive Geiger counter or scintillation counter. Beware the eBay equipment selling cheap: these are surplus civil defense units used to detect man-killing amounts of radiation after a nuclear blast. You can click on the links below to learn more. That's the bad news. Now a bit of good news. It should be noted that anyone uncomfortable with the use of granite in their home is best advised to "go to school" and learn some things. You should get up to speed on what is necessary to understand the nature of the problem and what the effects are. Yes, it's nuclear physics, but it is understandable to just about anyone who wishes to simply read up. Some related questions might be a good place to start, and you can find them linked below. Get an accurate set of facts, and a "balanced" set of opinions. The decision to choose granite in new construction or to keep existing stone in your home is one that must be looked at like making a decision to, say, drive from Los Angles to Las Vegas. It's one that should be made after assessing the risks. As regards the driving, you will probably arrive safely, but it is possible you can be killed on the freeway if you elect to buzz over to Las Vegas for a weekend of handle-pulling, dice throwing or card drawing. And you expose yourself to a little extra radiation (above the so-called background radiation that bathes us from conception to grave and zaps us a bit all the time) by selecting or retaining granite as a construction material. What is the acceptable level of exposure for you? Know the facts and make an informed decision. A wise person would advise this, and a wise person would take that advice.
Yes. Radiation is emanated from radioactive material, so the amount of radiation that someone "gives off" is a function of how much radioactive material they have inside them.
