Everybody is different and can experience heartburn from as early as the day after conception to as late as just before giving birth. Some women can have it for the first trimester only, the second trimester only, the third trimester only or the whole way through their pregnancy with some women having it randomly and without a pattern. If you experience extreme heartburn at any point during your pregnancy you should consult your doctor for the best remedy.

Many people think it is late in pregnancy when the growing baby pushes the stomach up, but for a lot of women it starts much earlier and is caused by the hormone progesterone relaxing the muscle at the entrance to the stomach allowing acid to regurgitate back up into the esophagus. You can take antacids (ask your doctor) and it also helps to sleep propped up on two or three pillows (or place a wedge under the mattress) as laying down makes it worse.

Hi Dieter, thanks for your quotsien. In short, TSA is not influenced by government funding when it comes to public advocacy. There is often a tension in knowing what fights to pick because, you will never win them all and at the same time to retain a respect by government that means when you do speak you are listened too.We do a lot of direct interface with government both state and federal from both territories as well as the National Secretariate in Canberra.regards

There is not a set age where you get heartburn. It can happen at any time.
You can get it at any age, however it is generally most apparent in adults ages 35 and up.

What percentage of the population suffers from heartburn?

I had my period about a week and half ago Now I am having nausea headaches heartburn and have been constipated for almost a week A blood test was negative Could I still be pregnant?

probably not. heartburn is a symptom associated with hair growth of the baby, and that doesnt get into full swing until about four months. if the blood test was negative, GIVE IT UP you're not pregnant. you probably have a virus or something. the blood test will detect pregnancy, even before a urine test. besides that, if you just had your period a week ago, you havent even passed your fertility days which fall 2 weeks after the first day of your last period. some women experience symptoms similar to pregnancy when they are experiencing pms. i had these same symptoms before. and after you're actually pregnant most women really dont experience the full spectrum of symptoms if at all until about 4 weeks. its different for everyone, but make a long story short, keep trying.

A week ago you were laying in bed trying to sleep and you felt a sore bump on your nipple that was not there before. due for your period this week but ive been nauseous have had really bad heartburn?

AnswerYour heartburn can be worrying about the sore bump on your nipple. Sometimes this is caused by a change in hormones, but please see your doctor so he can diagnose you. Don't be afraid, because you haven't had it long and it's doubtful it's breast cancer.

Is heartburn part of pms?

In the last year, I have experienced heartburn regularly the week before my period. While multiple doctors have told me that there isn't a known correlation between the two, I do not believe them. It seems to me that if it happens monthly, and only the week before my period, that there must be some connection. Plus, there are frequently issues I have witnessed that doctors swear are unfounded... but I know I have seen. (Example: Infants with a mild fever when teething, just before a tooth breaks through.)

Sharp stomach pains nausea gas extreme hunger heartburn are you pregnant?

It's possible; Your symptoms of pregnancy will usually appear anywhere from the first week of your expected period to 1-2 weeks after your first week of expected period. Your first signs of pregnancy most commonly include missed period, tender/swollen breasts, change in color of the breasts, fatigue, nausea/vomiting, increased sense of smell, and weight gain.
