To keep a paintbrush soft, always clean it thoroughly after use with soap and water or a suitable solvent, depending on the type of paint used. After cleaning, reshape the bristles and store the brush vertically or horizontally in a way that prevents the bristles from getting bent or damaged. Additionally, applying a small amount of brush conditioner or mineral oil can help maintain its softness over time. Avoid letting paint dry on the bristles, as this can harden them and affect performance.
