you have a loose connection somewhere on your vehicle check battery cables and alternator connections i have the same problem i found out what it is by the brake and gas pedals.. where the code reader goes under neith that is a black box i thinks is a power coverter i dont know yet but i unpluged it and the dome light when out but no more flicker i will up date when i found out more about this box I would think that you have a problem with the serpentine belt (also called drive belt) if it is loose it will cause the alternator not to rotate making your lights flicker and since the power steering is connected to the same belt it will also cause a low fluid pressure making your steering wheel hard to steer.
Not absolutely certain on your model, but newer fords have a solid state Light Control Module (LCM) that is sensative. You may have damaged yours.
Check the alternator output, you may have a failed voltage regulator or bad brushes in the alternator resulting in an oscillating voltage value. This assumes that the flicker is relalted to engine rpms.
-- battery -- battery cable -- connection between battery cable and battery A fault in any of these would still supply the small current used by the lights and radio, but not the huge battery current required for starting.
The battery is dieing down and you should go and get a new battery or get your battery charged
Flickering lights, on a Cadillac STS, is usually a sign of a loose wire. When all of the lights flicker, it is an indication of a loose battery ground cable.
Might be a weak battery
why do my lights flicker and interior lights flicker
Sounds like you need a new battery.
It is possibley your alternator or battery
Your lights may flicker because they power is really low. It is very common for them to flicker when there is a storm out.
turn the key, and if the interior lights don't come on or flicker, then its dead.
Because power from the battery, which was going to the lights, is being utilised to turn the starter motor. You should really start the car before you turn on your lights to avoid putting unnecessary strain on the battery
Probably your battery cable or cables are loose on one end or the other.
A loose battery cable can cause your vehicle to on most stall and it can cause the lights to Flickr. Make sure your battery cables are tight and free of corrosion.
An elf under the hood who's disconnecting and re-connecting the battery terminals!
