Check the ignition switch and the fusable link. Other than that, I can't think of anything without looking at it.
I also have a similar problem. I cut the wrong wire while installing speakers with the truck battery running. Sparks shot out and now my windows wont roll up and my cab light comes on when I push the brakes. I have checked the fuses and the relay. ??
check your fuses could possibly be a fuseable link by the starter
Does your underhood light come on when you open the hood ? If not , it sounds like a dead battery or poor cable connection to the battery
assuming you have power windows/locks, not sure about manual? i had the same problem with my car, just purchased used... a friend suggested take the key into the driver side door (make sure the door is closed) and turn to lock then unlock repeat three (3) times this was for a different type of car, so i thought can't hurt to try... it worked for me and allowed me to finally start my car and has worked since i have had to disconnect/reconnect the batter when i was working on the window motor. you will know if it works the windows will sync and can go up/down by the key
I have a 97 volkswagon jetta gls 2.0 and three of my power windows do not work. Only the front passenger window works. How do I fix this problem.
Sounds like a poor battery cable connection or a dead battery ( I drove to work one day and everything seemed fine , but when I came out of work to go home my battery had a dead cell so I had no power to anything )
The time would only "reset" if the clock battery on th motherboard has died. Replacing the battery should eliminate the problem.
Hi I've almost the same problem except that my power windows are working fine If you have solve your problem can you write me at canronalex@aol.com Thanks Alex
Loose or corroded battery cables? Weak battery? Bad ignition switch?
Assuming you have power windows, ! ..The dimming of the headlights when raising or lowering the power windows, generally indicates a greater than normal electrical load is placed on the battery (high resistance), this is due to the excessive effort made by the motor in raising or lowering the window. The increased effort is (1) generally due to partial seizure of the window regulator mechanism (2) because of poor or no lubrication,or (3) tightness of the window glass in the guide. (4) Could also be poor battery. (5) worn out motor.
No, it's probably a grounding problem or possibly a problem with the accessory circuit. Many people jump to conclusions that the computer has a problem when the reality is it's just a problem that they haven't bothered to check out.
Hewlitt Packer has said they will have a patch soon for the old equipment that works with Windows 7. There will not be a problem with the battery error that some received.
If the headlights will come on bright it's probably the starter. If the lights are dim it may be the battery. If you try jumper cables and it won't start it's probably the starter.
To reset electric windows on a Peugeot 307, just disconnect the battery for a while. Following the battery disconnect, neither of the electric windows will operate.
very simple. if your starter is bad your car battery should be fine.. so turn on the headlights and the car radio and open the windows. do the lights work? does the radio play? do the power windows work? if yes then the battery sounds pretty good! if your battery is low on amperage it will not be able to start your car but may work on some eleectronics. if the car will not start but seems to have a charge in the battery. you may want to get a bar or a long metal pipe and hit the starter a bit, this may move the starter enough to get it spinning again (happens alot with cadillacs)
Check your battery, it can be weak or dead. If the battery seems fine, your alternator may be weak or needs replaced.
Range of potential issues. No fuel, fuel pump dead, starter motor breaking down or jammed. ther may be power to work electrics but the starter moter takes a vast amount to turn over and fire the engine,. Test the battery is actually fully chatged, text altenator in case its not producing the charge to keep the plugs firing. Issue of timing can cause this problem.. It seems electrical. It has fuel. Battery is new and tested fine. It's as if turning it to the on position does nothing. It won't let you turn on anything needed by having it in the on position (radio, windows, wipers). I now suspect its the TIPM or an ignition switch.
