go to a doctor. this doesn't sound like something associated with a tattoo.
that depends. do you have eyes?
The hip should hurt less because there's more fat and muscle there than the lower back. Honestly though, the pain shouldn't be a factor in where you place it. I have a tattoo on the top of my back going down my spine and while it killed when I was getting it done, I wouldn't want it anywhere else=)
Also known as a Tramp Stamp or a Bullseye

He has a tattoo on his lower back, commonly referred to as a "tramp stamp." It may have personal significance to him or be a reflection of his style and interests. The perception of tramp stamps varies widely among individuals and may be subject to societal stereotypes.
The term most commonly used for a girl who has a tatto on her lower back and hip region is tramp stamp.
a tramp stamp
Its a tramp stamp, simple as that. if girls dont want guys to think that then they should get it somewhere else I don't think the location of a tattoo matters. Usually, isn't it what the word says or what the symbol is? The location doesn't matter. There are some people who would call a tattoo on a womans lower back a "tramp stamp", meaning that they just have it there for guys to look at her butt. It is the word or the symbol that really matters, not where. But not ideally because some ladies will like to have a at that location because it inspire them, this does not call them a tramp but for someone who loves how they look, and if they are on holiday it will look beautiful even though the image of the tattoo will carry meanings.
Tramp-Stamp.
San Andreas License Plate. Or Miami License plate... or any license plate. You get the idea. Also, the old standard, "lower back tattoo" works.
Generally, this type of tattoo is referred to as a "tramp stamp" due to the stereotype that girls who get this type of tattoo want someone to see it or intend to show it off (i.e., will be wearing midriff-bearing clothing). This is can be regarded as promiscuous behavior that invites sexual advances.
It would seem that Melissa Rycroft is trying to hide it or at least producers of Dancing with the Stars are hiding it with a flesh colored fabric covering her lower back. There are consistant reports that say it is a tattoo that says "True Love". Apparently even as a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys she was told to cover the tattoo with make up. Some people think tattoos and especially in the lower back region are not very classy with many calling them "tramp stamp". But hey, who are we to judge.
