That is actually the joke of why they still paint their doors different colors. truthfully know one know quite why. There are many stories. My favorite one is everyone knows of the dispute between England and Ireland. So when Queen Elizabeth's husband died, she asked all of Ireland to show they were in mourning with her by painting their doors black. Well the people of Dublin decided to say a big F**K you and painted their doors bright colors.
