Elementary education may be either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) depending on the school and the program to which you apply.
It depends on what your AA is in. In other words, if your AA is in - lets say - journalism then not as many credits would be able to be placed into an elementary bachelors degree than if your AA was in elementary education or even straight liberal arts. It will depend on the receiving institution, their transfer credit policy, and the number of free elective areas with their elementary education program of study. In addition, it will also depend on your specialty within elementary eduction (science, English, math, history etc.). Certainly it will not take as long as the entire program of study, however you should - as best you can- put the time element aside. The most important thing is achieving your overall career goals and objectives. If teaching is your passion, then concentrate on being the best teacher you can. The academic counselors and program faculty should be able to guide you appropriately. Much of your AA should be transferable to your BA in elementary education.
Yes, that is a professional degree as long as it is a BA.
The difference between the bachelor of science and the bachelor of arts is that the science degree has more course requirements that focus on finance. The BA will require more general education courses.
It depends on the institution and business department within the school as to which focus they prefer. The BA has a broader scope, with a strong emphasis on the liberal arts, in addition to the theoretical and general knowledge of the discipline. The BS is more of a focused approach with a science base to include a balance of liberal arts, technological knowledge, math and computer oriented skills, and practical skills needed for a particular discipline within the field.
It depends on what type of Bachelor's degree it is. The two basic umbrella categories are Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS), but here are some other examples: Bachelor of Social Work (BSSw) Bachelor of Social Science (BSSS) Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) Bachelor of Arts in Education (BAE) Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd)
A baccalaurteate is a Bachelors Degree (Ba); the use of the degree depends entirely on the the material that was studied and what job it is being applied to. For example a Bachelors Degree in Law is only useful if it is applied in a legal (and sometimes commercial field). You would not use it if you wanted to teach at elementary school, for that you would require a BA in elementary education or education.
Depending on the school you can get a BA in elementary education if you have an AA in general studies. You may have to take some core classes but you should have no problem with it.
Typically, it is a Bachelor's of Arts (BA) degree.

Depends on the state. In CA you need a liberal studies BA. Some states have education and related fields.
you need to have a teachers degree
The degree you are looking for is Elementary Education.
Within higher education, a BA stands for a "bachelor of arts" degree, which is a four year program of study.
Andrew Clements earned a Bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in Elementary Education.
If I understand your question correctly, the AA is a degree at the two year level and not a minor. If you take a bachelors degree, the associates would still remain a degree; a bachelors in elementary education, an associates of arts degree in early childhood education (which should be the way you would want it).
