Music has been proven to greatly effect mindset and mood, especially of teenagers. Biblically, you are right to be concerned because according to The Bible, the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one, and he hunts us Just as a lion would. (1 John 5:19; 1 Peter 5:8)

However, Proverbs 19:2 makes this point: "A person without knowledge is not good, and the one who acts rashly is sinning."

Perhaps it would be best to examine the lyrics of the music she is listening to yourself. Print them out and discuss with your daughter what she finds attractive about them. Much of this type of music is highly emotional and tends to bring out the anger in our young people. Many of our young people are understandably angry at the world and the people in it, and they turn to this type of music as an outlet for their emotions. When you see injustice and suffering at every turn, it can make a kind person feel the way Job did. However, if the lyrics and the emotions it instills are indeed detrimental, than hopefully you and your daughter can find a new way for her to release her anger at the world.
