THE RED BUMPS MIGHT BE FROM THE BODY HEALING THE TATOO. AND OR MAYBE YOUR TATOO ARTISTS HAD A HEAVY HAND AND DUG HARDER WITH THE TATTOO GUN. GET SOME A&D OINMENT AND KEEP IT WELL MOISTURIZED Red bumps have nothing to do with how the tattoo artist applies the tattoo, but more likely indicates that you are allergic to something you are putting on your tattoo. That is very common to happen if you are using neosporin or polysporin ointments. stop using any type of ointments because they can clog your pores and also cause bumps to form, switch to a light hand cream instead. something that is unscented and for sensitive skin is better. try to avoid any moisturizers with lanolin. if your tattoo feels dry, it needs some moisturizer, if it feels fine, leave it alone. too much moisturizer can also be bad. If you are concerned, see your doctor or a dermatologist. they can prescribe you proper medication to treat an allergic reaction.
This is not a question that can really be answered without knowing more about the tattoo itself. Your best bet would be to consult a tattoo artist, preferably the one that did the tattoo. If you didn't have it done professionally, go in and see an artist.
There is a lot of things that could contribute to the red bumps. One mentioned an allergic reaction to what ever you are using to take care of the tattoo.
Some of the other things are:
Irritation of the skin
Hairs growing back, since you are supposed to shave the area prior to tattooing it.
Possible reaction to the pigments. Some pigments are either iron or plastic based, so your body may be more likely to respond to it. This is more common with red tones.
Area's of the body are more prone to having difficulties healing just because of either being below the waist line or a highly mobile area.
As mentioned, it is best to consult a professional tattoo artist.
If you were told to put cling film on it afterwards, which you should have, it could be a little heat rash from the sweat, the idea being to keep the tattoo wet so a scab cant form, but it often causes a little heat rash, but it dissapears after a few days
I rash could indicate that you are allergic to something, most likely the product that you are using for aftercare. Alot of people are allergic to neosporin, and anything containing neosporin, so look at the ingredients of the product. it's really best to contact your doctor and have it taken care of properly. It the rash occurs soon after the tattooing, it could be you were allergic to the latex gloves the tattoo artist was wearing. That happened to me, it went away in a few hours though.
Itch bumps on a tatoo could be a sign of an allergic response to the metallic coloring used in some tatoos. If they are severe, consult a dermatologist soon (within 24 hours) and if "merely aggravating", you can try some 1% hydrocortisone cream, and if not better within 3 days, consult a dermatologist within the week.
Sounds like you are having a mercuric oxide reaction to red ink...Most reds have trace elements of mercuric oxide in them, some people are more susceptible to this than others....
How do you tell if you are???/ Get a tattoo with red ink in it....What to do about it??? Not a lot! One way to be sure is if it raises up and bumps up more in the direct sunlight, it is a red ink reaction...Hope this helps.....
Usually an artist shaves the area that is being tattooed. I´m guessing the small pimples will be ingrown hairs from the shaving.
Is it recent? If it is, it may be because of ink poisonong. If not recent, I suggest going to a dermatology practice or consulting your tattoo artist. Hope this helped!!!!!
Probably that you are using too much aftercare product. Most will suffocate the skin and clog the pores, you really just need enough to keep it from drying, otherwise you jack up your skin
infection!
allergic reaction to ad oinment......use something else like tattoo goo
A tattoo which is on the shin should sting for a few days.
Around ten days tattoo is fully healed, run under hot shower straight when you get home to help take swelling down, cover with bepanthen every few hours
I would not recommend it, all of the rubbing could cause the tattoo to peel early and scrape off all of the scabs. This means that you will have to go back in to get it recolored after it has been healed fully. You should lay low for at least 13 days.-Shocker
It symbolizes all the tough times people have had and that they have survived throughout them. In days before steamships, sailing the seas was a true adventure, and those who sailed on tallships and was a shell-back sailor wore his tattoo proudly to show he was a part of an exacting and dangerous tradition

I was right at 12 weeks and 3 days lmp when I got the Montgomery bumps on my areola's
yes especially if its already peeling
It is normal for a new tattoo to stay red and swollen for up to a week. You can take Advil for the swelling and apply Aquaphor to help the healing.
It all depends on what your aftercare instructions are. In Ireland, you have to keep your tattoo covered with cling film for 3-4 days. It should be fine to wear a long sleeved shirt as long as it's not too tight and you keep your tattoo well hydrated.
Of course you can just not the day you get it! After i think two days then you can hop in the shower!
about 2 days
yes
You can exercise a 3-4 days after getting your tattoo, but do not wear tight, restricting clothing, and try to limit the amount of exercise you do in the area of your new tattoo. Make sure you clean your tattoo immediately after exercising.
I'm 13 years old and 3 days more and i get my tattoo .... do you think that it's a good idea or not ... ??

It takes about 10 days for a tattoo to heal completely. In the healing process a scab forms over the tattoo and if any of the scab is rubbed or knocked off you loose part of the tattoo. If you a slow healing I would suggest not getting one. You may have a underlying condition that is causing this to happen. Talking to your doctor could give you more information.
