If it is a light color I would think it would look OK, but it will make your room look smaller. How about one wall in a dark color and a contrasting color on the walls. Make a stencil and put clouds on the ceiling. I did this in my kitchen.

Answer: Normally no. The Ceiling should be painted a lighter coler to add openness to the room.Usually ceiling white or about three shades lighter on the color chart (or more). This makes a room feel more open and not so closed in. Hope this helps.
Because the pope did not find the ceiling decoration worthy enough.
depends on if you want people's eyes to be drawn to them or not. if you want the beams to blend in, paint them the same color as the rest, if you want it to make a statement, paint them a different color. the more different the color, the more it will stick out.
What kind of dried paint? What is under the paint on the ceiling? ....on the metal?
A flat paint finish is recommended for ceilings as it helps to hide imperfections and provides a smooth appearance. Ceiling paint is typically flat to minimize glare and create a uniform finish.
To create the illusion of 9-foot ceilings from 8-foot ceilings, you can paint the ceiling a lighter color to draw the eye upward, or use vertical stripes in the walls to enhance height perception. Additionally, installing crown molding can create a visual break that makes the ceiling appear higher. Using tall furniture and keeping window treatments high can also contribute to the feeling of increased ceiling height.

Ceiling paint is a type of paint specifically designed for painting ceilings. It is different from regular wall paint in that it is formulated to be splatter-resistant, have better coverage, and be less prone to dripping. Additionally, ceiling paint is often formulated to be thicker in consistency to help prevent drips and spatters while painting overhead.
For ceilings, it is recommended to use a flat or matte finish paint. These types of paint help to hide imperfections and provide a smooth, uniform appearance.

A popcorn ceiling is also known as a cottage cheese ceiling or a Stucco ceiling. It's spray-on paint on ceilings. It was used from 1950 to 1980. Nowadays it's banned because of the health risks.

Ceilings are a much neglected surface for paint. I have decorator friend who claim a ceiling should never be anything but white, but I disagree.I used a midnight blue on the ceiling of my studio against everyone's advice (they all claimed it would bring the ceiling down) but I found it was like working outdoors on a clear night. The ceiling all but disappeared from my consciousness.I have done murals on several ceilings, included pale blue with fluffy little clouds in a nursery, and the canopy of a forest in a young man's room.I love to do the faux coffered ceiling look by adding a moulding a foot or so from the wall and painting the outer area a slightly darker shade of the colour I paint the inner area. Even if you just paint the ceiling a much lighter colour of your wall colour it tends to add a bit of something special to the room.
What you are calling "car paint" is probably lacquer based, and would really soak into a plaster ceiling. If you are doing a design or something, this may be appropriate, but other than that, not good for coverage.
Assuming you want to cover up the purple so you can start over: buy the type of paint that covers water stains, deep colors. Kilz makes a paint that does that. Then, paint over that with the color you do want.
Eggshell paint is a good choice for ceilings because it offers a durable finish that resists stains and is easy to clean. It also provides a subtle sheen that adds a touch of elegance to the ceiling without being too glossy.
