This may be stylish if you have a classical decor, however most modern decors no longer do this.
i have found using the IKEA wire curtain rod system (DIGNITET or DEKA) with either a curtain or currently my great-grandma's quilt as the 'door'. Mounted to the walls & laying horizontally, there's still some space at the top for air flow. You can hang blackout drapes or whatever is the light-blocking or pretty level you want. I've used this method for the past year for my 'bedroom' in a finished basement, right off the stair landing, and it's worked great. I get privacy, and light-blocking (necessary when working a 2nd job at night), and moderate sound-blocking if my son is watching TV in the other 'room' downstairs.

Some creative ways to use a room divider curtain in a studio apartment include: Hanging the curtain from the ceiling to create a visual separation between the living and sleeping areas. Using a curtain with a bold pattern or color to add a decorative element to the space. Installing a curtain rod on a track system to easily slide the curtain open or closed as needed. Using a sheer curtain to allow light to pass through while still providing some privacy. Incorporating a double-sided curtain to create different moods or atmospheres on each side of the divider.
