There are three types of muscles: Skeletal (what we think of when we move our bodies), Cardiac (muscle found only in the heart), and Smooth (muscle in our organs, such as the stomach).

Cardiac muscles are striated muscles, they have striations just like skeletal muscles. Striations help move muscles, basically.

Hope this helped a little.

What muscle tissue is the tissue of the heart?

Cardiac muscle is found in the heart. The other two types of muscle are smooth and striated (skeletal) muscle.Cardiac muscle, the third kind of muscle (the other two being skeletal and smooth muscle.

Can the heart contain smooth muscle?

No, they are not. Cardiac muscle is a type of involuntary striated muscle found only in the walls of the heart. This is a specialized muscle that, while similar in some fundamental ways to smooth muscle and skeletal muscle, has a unique structure and with an ability not possessed by muscle tissue elsewhere in the body. Cardiac muscle, like other muscles, can contract, but some of the cells have the ability to generate an action potential, known as cardiac muscle automaticity. Meaning that some of the cells can beat on their own without any nerve stimulation.

What is the thin and smooth and is the innermost layer of the heart?

The endocardium

What kind of muscle is responsible for the heart pumping action?

The heart itself is a muscle, however the heart all is made up of different muscles. The muscle knows as the MYOCARDIUM makes up the largest portion of the Heart Wall. The myocardium is made up of the cardiac muscle tissue, which is responsible for the pumping action.

Are skeletal muscles responsible for the pumping action of the heart?

no MyocardiumThere are three types of muscle: skeletal muscles which move the bones, smooth muscle which produces waves (peristalsis) along a tube. For example, the digestive tract and muscle found only in the heart. This is called myo- (muscle) -cardium (heart).

What organ has involuntary and striated muscles?

The heart as both involuntary and striated muscles. The striations are similar skeletal muscles. Heart muscles are involuntary like the muscles seen in the digestive tract, called smooth muscle.

Which type of muscle tissue is striated and involuntary?

Cardiac Muscle it can be found in the heart it is called Involuntary because its contraction does not require conscious effort. It is also Striated in the same way as skeletal muscle.Hope I helped!!!

Most of your muscles are striated skeletal muscles but you also have smooth muscles Which of these organs has a third type a striated kind?

Heart

Non striated muscle and location in the body?

There are three types of muscle tissue. Cardiac, which is the heart. Striated, or skeletal muscles and smooth muscle tissue. The smooth muscles create waves that move food down the esophagus and through the intestines. The wave motion is called peristalsis.

Are smooth muscles striated or smooth?

Smooth muscle is the muscle inside of the digestive system so it has to be involuntary.

What are the two types of muscle s?

There are smooth and striated muscles. Smooth muscles are involuntary and striated are voluntary. Cardiac muscles (the one that makes up the human heart) can also be considered its own category.

Is cardiac muscle striated?

Cardiac Muscle is smooth but looks striated

What muscle cell type is striated and involuntary?

Skeletal muscle is striated and voluntrary. Smooth muscle, as is found around the blood vessels and in many organs, is not striated and involuntary. The heart (cardiac muscle) is the only place you have striated involuntary muscle.

Is the skeletal system striated or smooth?

smooth

Describes muscles that are stripped in appearance?
