Pentax cameras are not supported for tethered shooting in lightroom.

You can set up tethered shooting by "auto import" function in lightroom. You have to set up original Pentax software for shooting tethered and downloading taken pictures in the folder on your PC that you set in Lightroom to be "watching folder".

So you shoot be the pentax software and lightroom imports photos immediately after you shoot.

I believe he uses a Pentax for studio work but i am not sure of the model...that's all I got. when he shot film, he was shooting a Pentax 645n or an nii, nowadays i think he's pretty much only doing stuff that he wants to (a lot of gallery work) and uses digital Hasselblads, with I'm sure, the highest resolution backs. along a bajillion studio lights, ringlights and beauty dishes and whatnot

What would be the best portrait lens for a Pentax K1000?

Anything from 85mm to 105mm is a fairly standard portrait lens for 35mm. You can find a few Pentax K-mount lenses online, but it's getting harder as we go because the K1000 hasn't been made in decades.

Will Pentax 35MM camera lenses fit any other camera?

Pentax screwmount lenses (M42) will fit differently branded cameras with the same mount. It will easily fit other camera mounts including digital bodies using a cheap adapter. Just make sure you use the correct version of the adapter that focuses correctly to infinity. With Pentax K-mount lenses, there are existing adapters that will mount these to a four/thirds system camera, the Canon EF EOS, the Minolta MA or Sony Alpha and the Leica M39 screw mount. Take note that in most digital bodies, the lens can only be used at manual mode. Some camera models will not meter through it even at stop down. Pentax dSLR bodies will meter through them and add Shake Reduction and focus confirmation even if the lens is full manual.
