∙ 12y agoIn the 1990s, Orion Pictures (which was then inherited the rights to the series), a film version of The Addams Family (released November 22, 1991). Due to financial problems the studio now, Orion sold the American rights of the film for Paramount Pictures. After the initial success of the film was followed by a sequel Addams Family Values (released November 19, 1993, with distribution by Paramount). Restrictions on the content of the films released authority to spend much more grotesque humor that sought to keep the original spirit of the Addams Cartoons (actually there were more gags lifted directly from the single panel cartoons). Both films used the same cast, except grandmother, played by Judith Malina in the first film and Carol Kane in the second. A script for a third film was produced in 1994 but was abandoned after the sudden death of actor Raul Julia.
Another film, Addams Family Reunion, was released directly to video September 22, 1998, this time by Warner Bros. through its video division. It has no relationship with Paramount films, is actually a pilot project along the entire length of a second live-action TV version, the New Addams Family, produced and filmed in Canada. Gomez's third film, played by Tim Curry, in the style of Raul Julia as Gomez's new comedy, played by Glenn Taranto, was playing style of John Astin, who played the character in the 1960's. The only actors in the production of Warner Brothers have had in previous films were Paramount Carel Struycken as lurch and Christopher Hart, at best.

Who's the Family Stone?
The Family Stone is a movie that came out in 2005 starring Diane Keaton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Claire Danes, Rachel McAdams, Craig T. Nelson, Luke Wilson etc. It is a comedy/drama about a family that meets the girlfriend of their son for the first time at Christmas. Sarah Jessica Parker plays the girlfriend of Dermot Mulroney, who has trouble fitting in with his family (The Family Stone). Mulroney plans to propose on Christmas day and everyone is horrified that he would marry the uptight woman played by Parker. The movie is about the couple days of Christmas and how all the different personalities in the family adjust, and change as new members join the family and others leave. Diane Keaton is a very strong independent matriarch and Rachel McAdams plays the sarcastic, smart younger sister. It is great movie about family and acceptance. I highly recommend it!
