The car won't start because of the security system. The security system will either have to be bypassed (there are kits available on Ebay sometimes and there are some websites that have them too) or replaced. The ignition key has a built in resistor that the security system checks when you try to start the car. If the security system doesn't recognize the resistance of the key it won't start the car. Then you have to wait 2 to 10 minutes before it will start ( sometimes it's a lot longer than 10 minutes). You could try getting a replacement key and see if the security system recognizes it better. GM installed security systems in their vehicles that are called Passkey I, II and III. So if you get a kit you have to know which system is in your vehicle.
The security is keeping it from starting which is what it is supposed to do.
You can't bypass or reset security system, bring it to the dealer.
I don't think you can bypass them.
if you mean that your brake lights stays on, the problem most likely will be a bad/shorted brake light switch and as a result your battery lost power therefore your car is not going to start. o under your dash board on your brake pedal you'll see a wired/switch conected to it.you need to press the brake and disconect that wire/sending unit until you get a new switch otherwise it will keep eating your battery.remember once you disconect that, your brake lights wont work.(don't get a ticket)
If it does not turn over, but the lights work, you have a bad starter.
Check battery earth connection.
Start with the headlamp switch.
I would start with replacing the head light switch
I had the same problem with my 98 Tahoe. It ended up being the security sensor. The system was recording a security breach and would not start the vehicle. The dealer told me it was reading the chip in the key wrong. You can try and see if this is also your problem. Barrie form Van. B.C.
To wire a 4-way switch with multiple lights, you will need to connect the switches and lights in a specific way. Start by connecting the power source to the first switch, then connect the first switch to the second switch using 3-way switch wiring. Next, connect the second switch to the third switch using 4-way switch wiring. Finally, connect the third switch to the lights. Make sure to follow the wiring diagram for a 4-way switch setup to ensure proper functionality.
To wire a 3-way switch with a 3 lights diagram effectively, you will need to connect the switches and lights in a specific way. Start by identifying the power source and connecting it to the first switch. Then, connect the first switch to the second switch using a 3-wire cable. Finally, connect the second switch to the lights using another 3-wire cable. This setup allows you to control the lights from two different switches in the room.
how to start a 1993 chevy tahoe without a key
turn the ignition switch on (all the lights in dash light up) but do not crank engine. leave on for half hour untill security light goes off. turn off ignition, wait 30 seconds then start engine.
More than likely it has a bad magnet in the ignition switch you need to replace the switch and then relearn the security system
Stuck in Park? Check to see if the brake lights are working - shift interlock and brake lights are the same circuit. Try turning key to 1st (unlock) position without starting vehicle - shift to neutral to start vehicle and then shift to Drive
You turn the headlight switch to the left when you start the vehicle.
all of the other lights come on but when I turn switch all away to start wont do it
