It probably has a broken lcd screen. So yes there is a way to fix it but if you dont mind the line, on some cameras you can just go to the settings and reset it. But if i were you i would take it in somewhere a great place is odds-n-ends at the orchards mall in benton harbor mi.

The cheapest way is to use paint, but you would have ti do the shadowing and all of that stuff to make it look real. I'm not sure about GIMP though.
