The Museum Mile is a stretch of Fifth Avenue (about a mile long, from 82nd Street to 104th Street) that has a whole bunch of museums. There are 8 of them: Goethe House German Cultural Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art ("The Met"), The Guggenheim, National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts, The Cooper-Hewitt, The Jewish Museum, The Museum of the City of New York, and El Museo del Barrio. See the Related Link below.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art ("The Met") is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, on Fifth Avenue from East 80th to East 84th Street. It is part of the "Museum Mile," which is a stretch of Fifth Avenue, about one mile long, that has 8 museums. See the Related Question below.
Hadrian's Wall would make for a very nice hike (it's about 70 miles long) but London itself has Piccadilly Circus, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Charing Cross, and Oxford University.
Madame Tussauds is a waxworks museum with full size and very lifelike models of well known people from history and from the present day. It is a constantly changing exhibition to keep up with the latest personalities. For example, if a head of state changes, a new model will be made and displayed as soon as possible. The best likenesses are where the subject has agreed to do a sitting for the model makers so that they can produce an accurate likeness. Some of them are so good that it's hard to believe that you aren't looking at the real person. The bad news is that at the height of the tourist season, you can wait for a long time to get in and it is horrendously expensive.
