My vivitar 8025 won't turn on and it has been plugged into the charger for at least 3 hours already The charger light is still red and the camera does not have any power?

You might want to unplug it and start all over ....it is possible that your connection isn't tight. I left mine on over night the first time and then after that it was a quick charge.
