Doris Scott later to become Doris Scott Nelson started her try as an artist in Santa Ana California in the mid 1950s as something to do. Her first pieces were made with painting an object on a piece of wood and then finishing it with a mosaic border and i must say they were very nicely done. She changed over to canvas and painted flowers , people of interest, and then focused on animals. After a few trips to Africa on Safari, she mainly focused on painting African animals although some of her portraits of people were quite astounding. Doris passed away at an early age in I believe the mid 1980s. We have three of her paintings and they are all different. I wish I could upload one for you to look at. Mark.
