no.glow plugs are used to start the egine only they preheat the cylinders so the fule will help ignite the fule, only on cold days if the light stays on after the car is runing there is a problem with a sencor.
Immediately after engine starts the glow plugs will cycle on and off for about 20 sec. You may hear a click click click click. This is the controller cycling the glow plugs and is completely normal.
