Many would say that a semi-gloss, flat or satin finish would be best for a houses exterior. The semi-gloss is suppose to be the easiest to clean later on. The flat or satin finish paints, do not have reflective shine when dry.

Well, in my opinion I personally think that there will be no need to use a semi base paint with semi glossy paint - Therefore, this question is unneeded. Thanks for your time x

The California Paints website has a great section on historical colors. They have interior paint and exterior paint and you can browse by time period. Search for Craftsman colors. the colours are shown through images which can show 1000 words

You use a special primer paint like Zinsser that will adhere to glossy paint and allow you to cover it with any type of paint you wish. Ask at your hardware store. They might also recommend that you sand the glossy paint lightly first to help the primer adhere.

The ingredient in glossy paint is acrylic. You cannot remove that ingredient.
