A non-custodial parent is still a parent who retains parental rights. This is something the parents should be able to talk about and decide what to do outside of the court. It's one tiny thing to deal with in the years to come as parents. Earrings are easy to remove and the hole can heal. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. I would call this one of those decisions where both parents have to agree or at least set a age limit. So yes, the non-custodial parent do have the right since he/she is also a parent with rights.And the child will surely try to play you two against each other because that is what children do. Parents, separated or not, have to have a united front.

∙ 12y agook to all the teens out there that want a piercing or tattoo.. and ur parents wont let you .. its fine to get one without their approval but what if you go to the wrong person and u get one done and it hurts u very badly? its best to have their approval bc they can go with you and make sure its fine bc if something does go wrong then ur parents can help... me i had my mom go with me every single time i got anything done... so if they don't give you the ok then don't do it just wait .. or do it urself.. :D have a wonderful day!!

The vast majority of people still associate tattoos and piercings with "low class" people, even though many professionals nowadays do have tatts and piercings.
