If it's turning over slowly but eventually starts, there is more than likely a problem with the battery. It may be drained down or discharged. You can perform a battery test on it to ensure that there is sufficient voltage and Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) to start the vehicle. It also would be good measure to perform a charging system test to be sure that the alternator is charging enough. If it was a fairly new battery, you may have to do a parasitic draw test to be sure that something isn't sucking juice out of the battery when it shouldn't be. Hope this helps.
Maybe some shims will help.
Weak battery, or starter going bad.
I have had the same problem with my teg. my mate has had the same problem with his prelude. I think it may be computer related. I have found that by turning the key very slowly just before it clicks seems to solve it. I don't undeestand why, but this works for me. This first started happening at about 240000kms Your problem is the solenoid in the starter motor. I had the same problem and got my starter reconditioned for $200au. starts first go every time now
it's easy to check the solenoid, put a screw driver across the large nut & the smaller one, and if the starter engages it's the solenoid .make sure the vehicle is in park, or the e- brake is on. ( with key on)
Bad or discharged battery, bad ground, dirty connections at the battery, or a bad starter.
a, the battery condition should be checked first to make sure that its capable of turning over the starter, a weak battery will cause the majority of starter problems, if the battery is fine then its more than likley to be a problem with the actual starter or poor connections on the starter, i have only ever had 1 with a wiring problem, as for the timing out it will not cause slow cranking unless its well out causing piston to valve contact this is only possible if the belt has slipped or it was timed up wrong on refitting a new belt so b is highley unlikley but not impossable. Checking the timing went away with the distributor.
If there is nothing wrong with the engine internally, then ,the starter is pulling. Have to replace it. You could always pull out the plugs and spin the engine and see how that does. The starter on the 4.6 is hard to get the 3rd bolt out. But, it does come out.

If an engine is cranking slowly the first thing I would suspect is a weak battery. Remove both battery cables and clean both the cable connectors and the battery posts. Put a battery charger on the battery and charge it until if is fully charged. If the problem still persists, then suspect a starter going bad or the engine is slow in time. Remove the starter and have it tested at an auto parts store. If the starter checks OK, then you need to have the engine timing checked. If your Check Engine light is on, have the ECU scanned for a trouble code and go from there.
You have a bad starter. Jump start the engine, and head to NAPA for a new starter. I have the same problem. Does it start right up sometimes, then other times it doesn't start? If that's the case, it's still the starter.
the starter may be worn on your car if it starts up easily when its cold but slowly turns over when it is at the operating temperature. Replace the starter to your engine.
No
If the engine is cranking over fast(starter and battery ok) and it just won't start, it could be alot of things If the engine is cranking slowly, it could be the starter, the battery, or the alternator(not charging the battery) check your cables from the battery to the engine and the body... good luck d
The problem is most likely a bad connection between the starter and the power source or a bad starter itself. Does the car make a clicking noise when you turn the key to the start position? Does the engine try to rotate over or rotate very slowly? Do the headlights/interior lights dim a lot when you try to crank it over?
If the starter is grinding and spinning over, the teeth on the flywheel may be chipped. The starter can be removed then the engine turned over slowly by hand while inspecting the teeth.
