Are there special paints for metal doors?

A good, high quality latex paint will work for metal doors. If the door has an existing layer of paint, it should be sanded & cleaned well before applying a new coat. In the case of an aluminum door, it must be lightly sanded and stripped with an acid etch (wash primer) available at many finer harware stores.

Why would dry latex paint wipe off walls with water?

Dry latex paint can sometimes be reactivated with water because latex paint is water-based. When water is applied, it softens the paint's surface, making it easier to wipe off. This is especially common with matte or flat finishes that have not been properly cured.

What kind of grout to use when tiling bathroom?

Since there are many features of grout, this will depend on your question. There are epoxy grouts and latex modified grout. Epoxy grout is very stain resistance. The problem lies in that epoxy grouts are hard for a novice to use. Latex modified thin-sets are durable when used correctly. Additionally, you need to make sure you buy sanded or non sanded grout depending on the size of the grout joint and type of tile. If you have many natural stones, glass tile, or a tile with a great deal of shine, you will need a non sanded grout. Many bathrooms need this regardless, because their grout joint is 1/8" or less. All joints larger than 1/8" require sanded grout. This means you must be cautious before you begin, you place your joints correctly for the style tile you have.

Can you paint oil over latex that is painted over oil?

Hi there, Technically you can, but there may come a day where things starts to chip off. If you have the time, maybe it's better to take off the latex now. On the other hand, if the latex-over-oil was primed well (with shellac), it will hold, and painting oil over that will be OK too for at least 5 years. The oil will suck into the latex, and become matte and maybe blotchy. You can help it by either priming it first (shellac or oil-based primer), or shining it up with a laquer afterwards.
