The left artium of the heart receives blood from the pumonary veins.

  1. Blood enters the heart through the vena cava (vein) into the right atrium.
  2. It then moves down into the right ventricle through the open tricuspid valve which closes when the pressure in the right ventricle is higher than that in the right atrium to prevent back flow.
  3. The blood is then moved out of the heart and to the lungs through the pulmonary artery.
  4. it then comes back it the heart into the left atrium through the pulmonary vein.
  5. Blood is then moved into the left ventricle through the open bicuspid valve which also closes when the pressure in the left ventricle is higher than that in the left atrium to prevent back flow.
  6. Blood is then moved out of the heart and around the body through the main artery; the aorta.

Blood leaves the right ventricle then passes through a valve and enters what blood vessel?

through seminular valve at the time of ventricle contaraction blood from right ventricle is pumped to lungs.

To what part of the body is blood being pumped as it passes through the pulmonary artery?

It is being transported to the lungs to be oxygenated, after which it travels to the left side of the heart via the pulmonary veins.

Is blood pressure higher in the aorta or the pulmonary artery?

Aorta -The pulmonary artery is just going to the lungs, so it has to be lower pressure. The aorta is where all the blood going to the rest of the body is pumped through.

Where is the pulmonary artery located in the respiratory?

when the deoxygenated blood is collected from the different parts of the body it enters the right auricle and is sent to the right ventricle. From the right ventricle the blood is pumped through the pulmonary artery to the lungs for reoxygenation.

What happens to oxygen when it reaches the lungs?

it becomes oxygenated and travels through the pulmonary artery back to the heart where it then gets pumped to the body

What ventricle pumps blood from the heart to the lungs?

Right ventricle pumps blood through the pulmonary valve to the pulmonary artery to the lungs

A drop of blood in the pulmonary artery is oxygenated or deoxygenated?

Deoxygenated, the blood has come from the rest of the body to the heart via veins, and is being pumped from the heart (hence being an artery) to the lungs to be oxygenated, and brought back to the heart through the pulmonary vein as oxygenated blood (to be pumped to the rest of the body again).

What vessel is the blood pumped from the left ventricle?

Blood is pumped by both the left and right ventricles. Blood pumped by the right ventricle is to the lungs only while the left ventricle pumps to the rest of the body. This is why the walls of the left ventricle are significantly thicker than the walls of the right.

Blood form the right side of the heart is first pumped to the?

Pulmonary artery and then on to the lungs.

Is the blood in pulmonary artery oxygenated?

No, deoxygenated from the heart is pumped to the lungs via the pulmonary artery to be oxygenated and returned via The pulmonary veins where it is pumped out the aorta to the body and returned deoxygenated via the vena cava back to the right side of the heart to be pumped out the pulmonary trunk to the pulmonary arteries to the lungs. Some tips, arteries are always away from the heart to must have oxygenated blood in them and the left side leaves to the body so oxygenated blood is pumped there. Hope that helps!

Blood that is poor in nutrients is carried from the aorta to the?

pulmonary artery, where it is then transported to the lungs to pick up oxygen and get rid of carbon dioxide. After circulating through the lungs, the now oxygenated blood returns to the heart through the pulmonary veins before being pumped out to the rest of the body through the aorta.

What blood vessels carry blood from the heart to the lungs?

The blood vessels that carry the blood from the heart to the lungs are the pulmonary arteries. Blood returns from the body and is pumped by the right ventricle to the lungs, through the pulmonary arteries. The blood returns to the left side of the heart through the pulmonary veins.
