If I may contribute towards the answer, as it's not allowing me the option for a separate entry. Sadly, in order to remain viably competitive in the market many British pottery makers have had to outsource some of their production to China. While almost all still retain manufacture in Great Britain, the high cost of production and import simply makes meeting the price range of the broader consumer market abroad unpractical. The quality standards are often still quite optimal, but there is in my opinion a noticeable difference. The price paid however is often a third of what would have been charged for genuine "MADE IN ENGLAND".
