I saw it 30 years ago before it was cleaned, but now that it is cleaned it is beyond words. Seeing it again was worth the trip. He changed art and brought his neoPlatoic philosophy to his art. His figures are muscular, the clothing moves with them, and his flesh tones are the color of flesh. He once stated that when he carved marble he only let the figures out of the marble and at 71 years old when asked about life he said he was "still learning."
