Poseidon is the god of earthquakes and is known as the "Earth-Shaker." He is also the god of the sea and horses. He is known in Roman mythology as Neptune.

Although Poseidon is a brother of Zeus, his primary role was controlling the seas. It would seem that "on land" he would need his senior brother's permission to be an "earth shaker".
