Anthropods (humans) should not be confused with the similarly-spelled Arthropods.

Among others, the Arthropoda phylum contains the classes Arachnida (the Spiders), Merestomata (horseshoe crabs), Myriapoda (centipedes and millipedes), and the subphylum Pancrustacea which includes class Insecta (insects) and the crustaceans - crabs, lobsters, shrimp, etc.

How many germ layers do anthropods have?

In embryology, animals with bilateral symmetry, like arthropods (and also humans) produce three germ layers. Animals with radial symmetry like echinoderms produce two. Note that the term 'anthropod' should not be confused with 'arthropod' - anthropod is not a phylum nor taxon but is a broader term meaning human or humanoid.

What is an anthropod skeleton composed of?

Anthropods (humans) do have internal skeletons; arthropods (phylum arthropoda) by definition does not - instead they have external or exoskeletons. Note that the term 'anthropod' should not be confused with 'arthropod' - anthropod is not a phylum nor taxon but is a general term meaning human or humanoid.

How many different species of Anthropod?

Phylum arthropoda is the most diverse in species, with the highest count known of described species in any animal phylum. Over a million species under the phylum have been described and biologists estimate that millions of species have yet to be described, particularly amongst the insects.

What is chief characteristic of anthropods?

Arthropods are invertebrates having jointed limbs and a segmented body with an exoskeleton made of chitin. They are divided into four sub-groups:- Crustaceans: have gills, more than six legs and two pairs of antennae.Eg: Crab, barnacle, lobster, shrimp, remipede.- Insects: have six legs and many have two pairs of wings.Eg: Dragonfly, moth, ladybird, ants.- Arachnids: have eight legs, no wings and their bodies are in two parts/ segments.Eg: Spiders.- Myriapods: have many feet and long bodies of many segments/ parts.Eg: Millipedes, centipedes, myriapods.

What is a form of protection where an arthropod looks like another anthropod?

That's called mimicry. It can be used in a warning way, when a harmless hoverfly looks like a wasp for example, or to blend in with colonies, when certain beetles look like termites to enter their territory without being attacked, or even in an aggressive way when jumping spiders look and behave like ants to snatch their larvae.
