She was intelligent, independent, smart and well educated person; with a very certain charm and personal "charisma" specially noted by many who ever contacted her. Those who knew her remembered that politeness combined in her with determination of the person who knew well what she wanted, and was able to fight hard for a goal she settled. Some remembers that she could be really stubborn going her way - "harder then nails" as one person wrote. Her biographers also noted that the "working ethics was athavistically strong" in her. She loved books and poetry (particularly the French classic poetry) and knew 4 foreign languages. She also loved sport, especially riding, hiking and swimming. almost everybody who knewher privately noted that she always liked animals (cats, dogs, birds). Despite her popular "androgenous image" (of a pilot in a masculine-looking flying suits and googles) those who knew her as a private personality (or met her at some social events etc) remembers that private Earhart was pretty feminine and had a pleasant soft mannerism. A pretty good impression about her private personality can be obtained from reading her books - especially "The Fun Of It" from 1932. Alex V. Mandel (Amelia Earhart historian)
