For the most part from what I've always been told by clients of mine who have been in the service, they are primarily against any visible tattoos on your hands or neck. Tattoos on the face are completely out, and they are against any tattoo that is racist in meaning or has any gang affiliation. Other than that, they are pretty much cool with tattoos anymore.

The new tattoo rules: -- Forbid tattoos on the head, face, neck, hands, fingers and wrists. -- Allow no more than four hand-size tattoos below the elbow and knee. -- Prohibit sleeve tattoos that cover a person's entire arm. -- Ban sexist, racist, indecent or extremist tattoos. -- Bar enlisted soldiers from requesting commissions as officers if they have tattoos that violate the new policies. -- Require commanders to document any tattoos that violate the new rules among current soldiers. -- Order commanders to check their soldiers for new tattoos every year.

Does the USMC have a rule about the number of tattoos on their body for new enlistees?

In general, the Marine Corps does not want more than 3 - 4 small tattoos on a recruit or Marine. There are times when a waiver may be given. Full sleeve and ostentatious tattoos are frowned upon, and may keep one from enlistment. Part of the reasoning behind this is for safety of that particular Marine and his or her fellow Marines.

The impact of body piercings and tattoos on employers and their employees?

No impact if the employer is cool. Potentially a large impact if they're not. It's all a matter of opinion and totally arbitrary rules. Or, often, they don't even HAVE rules against it but fire people for having piercings or tattoos anyway (or tell them to remove piercings).

What kind of candy do the marines give out in Iraq?

In short, the candy is not specific. There are no rules or regulations governing the distribution of candy from Marines to the locals. These are typically individual Marines trying to show the locals that they are friendly. The candy used is usually whatever they have available. Marines get this candy from various places. Some MREs have a snack food in them (M&Ms, Combos, hard candy, pretzel sticks, chewing gum, etc) and Marines will hand these out to the locals. Some families will send care packages the their Marines that contain candy or mints.

Can police officers have tattoos?
