In terms of the actors directly, there is a need of dance training (helps with movement), vocal training, observational skills, and having lived or at least seen and understood some life.

Directors and ADs tend to have been actors at one point, or have at the very least studied it.

Script Writers also tend to have had some experience in the physical acting world, they need to understand how to write things that won't come off as odd when spoken because some things work on the page and not in reality.

Then you get the Stage Manager. They are basically the director at show time while the director is off being the business man. They also are in charge of the backstage crew and very often working in direct tandem with the Tech director.

When you don't have a specific tech design crew the Tech Director takes over that role, and serves as the communication point between actors/crew, and director/light-sound crew.

Then you have the crew. It's typically broken into stage crew, which are the movers and setter-uppers of the stage/props. The tech crew works with the lighting, sound, and other mechanical aspects of the production. The costume crew does what you would expect, costuming and on occasion set design as well when there isn't a department for that in and of itself. The Make-up crew does, you guessed it, hair and make-up.

Then you get into the business side of it with producers (the money), advertisers, ushers, concessions, photographers, filming (if you're up for that kind of thing).

This isn't a complete answer and pretty basic. However, for a smaller scale production the roles can be pared down and paired up.

Theatre is the building in which the play is performed. This has a performing space, called "stage," an audience space or "house," and a "backstage" where performers prepare and keep their costumes or props. Some of these buildings are masterpieces of architecture.
