It does not work that way. Styles come and go irrespective of others, and usually there are two or more styles flourishing at the same time. There are op artists working today.

Other styles or groupings from the second half of the 20th century are Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism, Hyperrealism, Minimalism, Video Art, etc.
