Plate tectonic shifts are natural and there is nothing humans can do about it. If you would like you can pray to God in hopes that he can stop them from shifting, but as i said... they're natural and we cant do anything to stop them.

I hope my answer helped you..

When did plate tectonics stop?

As far as the Earth is concerned - plate tectonics has not stopped; the plates are still in motion - which is why we get earthquakes and volcanic eruptions along the plate boundaries.

If plate tectonics was to stop would it cease volcanism?

That's like saying, if the world didn't exist would we still have oceans? You can't really get rid of plate tectonics so it doesn't really mean anything.

When will plate tectonics stop?

When the earth cools because it does not have enough radioisotopes left in the mantle and core to keep them hot enough to drive mantle convection.

What might cause a 1998 Saturn SC2 manual trans to be hard to shift when stopped at a light though it shifts fine when rolling to a stop?

Bad pressure plate. Worn fingers on the plate most likely.

What could we do to stop volocanos from exploding?

A volcano is a geologic phenomenon driven by the power of magma beneath the crust of the earth. Coupled with plate tectonics, the forces at work here dwarf the things that man can do. We really can't do much if anything at all to stop a volcano from exploding.

What would happen to the convection currents in the mantle if earth's interior eventually down?

If the mantle of the earth interior were to cool down the convection currents and plate tectonics would stop. That would mean that there would be no more earthquakes or volcanoes.

Will plate techtonics ever stop?

No

How were the andees mountain range and the Himalayas formed differently?

They are both the result of plate tectonics. The Andes mountains are the result of plate tectonics when the so-called South American plate was forced upwards by two other plates covered by oceans that drifted under and into it. The Himalayas formed when the Indian subcontinent drifted northwards and finally bumped into south Asia. The enormous mass of the Indian continent meant that on contact this drift did not immediately stop, but India kept forcing itself nothwards, forcing the earth before it up and 'folding' it into mountains. To this day this drift continues, at a pace of almost 7 centimeters a year.

Why did factories begin to require workers to work in shifts?

Factories made workers work in shifts so they wouldn't get tired and just stop working. The shifts consist of 8 hours or more. Ha ha Mr. Foust 12-1 xD

How do the locations of earthqakes support the theory of plate tectonics?

Observations of earthquakes and volcanic activity support the theory of plate tectonics because they both occur on boundaries. Boundaries are where plates meet and either converge, diverge or transform.
