To disable the theft system on a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire, you can try resetting it by disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnecting it. If that doesn't work, you may need to use the key in the ignition and turn it to the "On" position for about 10 minutes until the security light turns off. If issues persist, consider consulting the owner's manual or a professional mechanic for further assistance.
To reset the ETS (Electronic Traction System) light on a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire, you can start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about 10-15 minutes. If the light remains on after reconnecting the battery, it may indicate a persistent issue that needs to be diagnosed with an OBD-II scanner. Always check for any underlying problems with the traction system before resetting the light.
