The Friendship was red with gold stripes. the unnamed Vega sometimes called the Little Red Bus- or Red bus ( this in Smithsonian air and space)- was also Red with Gold stripes, very catchy color scheme. the ill-fated Electra was matte aluminum with I believe orange striping as she had some connection ( fuel resupply?) with Gulf Oil.The Canary- an Avro trainer, was yellow as the name suggests.
The Electra was Matte Aluminum ( poetic license silver- but somewhat Matte finished) and had Orange pin stripes- in part suggesting fuel sponsorship by Gulf Petroleum, a concern still in business at this writing. Gulf used modified and war-surplus ( iner alia-By then) RB-37"s similar to Earhart"s plane as late as late forties for business transport and arguably- petroleum prospecting with a torpedo-like thing called a ( Pig) suspended from a long cable- thar"s another story. The expedition ( Earhart global flight) was thus, sponsored in part by Gulf petoroleum.
