I've had this problem in my 1991 Escort. Try this, replace your spark plug wires and/or check your pcv valve it could be clogged or not even connected to valve cover. if replacing your spark plugs and checking your PCV valve didn't work check for a vacum leak in your intake and exaust system
It's running too rich.
Most of the time rough running and stalling is due to vacuum leaks. There is more of a load on the engine when it is in gear, so that lends itself to stalling out. When I look for vacuum leaks, I have the engine idling (maybe you need a friend to keep it from stalling) and then spray carburetor cleaner around the various hoses & gaskets that could be leaking. Any increase in the idle speed would be an indicator that you have a leak in that area.
Poor performance, poor economy, rough idle, lean burn causing valve or piston problems...
An auto battery could be leaking for a couple of reasons. The alternator could be overcharging the battery causing the leakage. Or the battery itself could have a short or other internal problem causing it to leak when charging.
The flat faces of a piece of shale could be quite smooth, but the broken edges can be quite rough.
The Corolla could be shaking for many reasons. Start by checking the wheel bearings and brakes for wear. Then check the engine to see if it running rough, causing the shake.
The engine is running rough. Could be in need of a tune up.
Running rich bad fuel injector?
Check your Plugs and coils
Could be in need of a good tune up.
If an alternator is going bad it can cause a rough idle in a 1993 Subaru Legacy. Cold temperatures in the winter can also cause a rough idle in the Subaru Legacy.
300zx twin turbo lots of black smoke and running rough
Foaming often indicates that the fluid level is too high. Maybe you overfilled the oil? Rough running could be many things. If you haven't changed plugs and plug wires lately, that could be a good place to start. FriPilot
Could be in need of a tune up.
It's extremely unlikely. Much more likely is rough running (usually due to engine management fault) causing a lack of oil pressure. Also, keep in mind that an excessively worn engine can cause both low or erratic oil pressure and rough running, but this will usually be accompanied by a knocking noise.
There could be many reasons as to why this car is running rough. The engine may be overheated, the mount may be destroyed, it may not be getting enough fuel, or there could be a lack of oil.
Does it have a Carb.? Choke sticking and running rich could be your throttle posioning sencer is starting to go drive safe
