Children learn begin to learn language as soon as they can hear. Some authorities believe it begins before birth. They begin to comprehend some words and tones of voice at about three months, and learn rapidly, but actually begin to speak at around 8-9 months old when the speech centers of the brain are sufficiently developed. Most infants comprehend far more than they can say. Infants learn language through example and association. The capacity of children to learn new sounds, words and phrases in their native and other languages is immense, up until about the age of 10. Most languages learned after that will be accented, although the speaker may become extremely fluent.
The requirements vary from style to style. In some, there are no new kata to learn after 1st or 2nd degree black belt, it is a matter of refining the technique, dedicating one's self to the art and reaching the appropriate level of maturity and age.
It truly depends on how your child learns. The Bible is an amazing way to learn because it is not altered or changed. In children animation things may be altered. In my opinion, I recommend you start with animation to help your child get to know their faith and ease your way into the real thing.

This might be one - "Children Learn What They Live" If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn. If children live with hostility, they learn to fight. If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive. If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves. If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy. If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy. If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty. If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence. If children live with tolerance, they learn patience. If children live with praise, they learn appreciation. If children live with acceptance, they learn to love. If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves. If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal. If children live with sharing, they learn generosity. If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness. If children live with fairness, they learn justice. If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect. If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them. If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.
