Martin Luther King Jr. helped others by telling them to not fight violently and telling people the right thing to do. Also by leading a march to Washington on August 28, 1963, about racism and segregation. :) i smart!
He gave them hope to fight against segregation, gave inspirational speeches (like the "I Have a Dream" speech, and lead protests (like the Montgomery Bus Boycott).
He never really SUCCEEDED. Martin Luther King wanted everyone to have equal rights yet most the population is still racist and cruel. Martin Luther King did help somewhat. Thanks to him no one is getting beatin for things they didn't do but Martin Luther's dream has not been fulfilled. But what helped was that people stood by him through all of this. Without them Martin Luther King wouldn't have gotten to where he had.
He helped people by showing people that the color of skin and the shape of someone's nose or eyes didn't matter but to be judged by the content of ones character. Also, to people that blacks and whites are equal and there is no need for fighting or killing in the world because of the color of ones skin. It shouldn't matter wether you are purple, blue, pink, black or white. We are all people and that's all that matters. Discrimanation is not the answer to anything nor is slavery. So, don't treat people bad just because they are a little difrent :) Trust me I am Caucasion and an African American girl picks on me because I am White. It isn't right. I wish she would know how it felt but that's not right either. Anyways i hope that answers your question XD
He had a dream that the race of blacks and whites would be between us. His speech did help alot.
While he was African American, and standing up for the rights of his group, he was in a broader sense standing up for the rights of all minorities - and indeed, the personal liberties of all men.
The Hungry Club Forum began as a secret initiative of the Butler Street YMCA, in Atlanta. It was a place where sympathetic white politicians could meet out of the public eye with local black leaders, who were excluded from many of the cityβs civic organizations. King, an Atlanta native, addressed the club on May 10, 1967. He acknowledged that progress had been made in civil rights, but warned that the βevilsβ of racism, poverty, and the Vietnam War endangered further gains for black Americans.
