In his later years, his "uniform" was a Greek Fisherman's knit shirt with a "boat" collar, loose fitting linen shorts and sandals.. Throughout his life ( see Vollard suite) he joined his model and painted nude on many occasions. Clothes were never a major statement for him, though he might have been accused of being "trendy".
