Uncertain, but some say dead go to Hades, underworld. It was so in Athens, but Spartans were not very good writers, so we know very little. Explanation of the word Hades in unknown. Some scientists have suggested that it has something to do with the word "invisible". So death could mean that you become invisible and vanish, only thing that lives on of your biological body, is fame and memory in other people's minds.
