How can the value of the acceleration due to gravity can be calculated for any planet?

The basic equtiion is g=(GM)/(r squared). Where G is the gravitational constant, M is the mass of the object, and r is the radius of the object. There are a lot of other factors to include to get a more accurate number, but this equation will get you in the same ballpark.

What is the differenceperiod and orbit radius near earth and geostationary satellites?

(Assuming sattelite mass is small enough compared to that of earth so it can beignored in the calculations)Basically, the nearer you are, the faster you have to go.CALCULATING ORBITAL VELOCITY (v) (radius given)G = newtons gravitational constant (6.673 * 10-11)M = mass of earth ( 5.974 * 1024 kg)r = orbital radiusv = orbital velocityFor any given orbital radius, only one velocity will sustain stable orbit.(Acceleration due to gravity) = (Acceleration due to centripetal force)(G*M / r2) = (v2 / r)For stable orbit velocity, first choose orbital radius.Rearrange (G*M / r2) = (v2 / r) to isolate v (stable orbit velocity)v = square root ( (G* M) / rExample:The minimum altitude where you will be free of atmosphere gases, and thus air resistance is about 100 km (100 000 metres), from earths centre thats= 6 471 000 metresThe velocity required to produce stable orbit = square root ((G*M) / r)= 7849 metres per second (17 558 mph)Orbital time = ((2*pi*r) / v) secondsGEOSYNCHRONOUS ORBITA 360 degree rotation of the earth ( sidereal day ) takes 23.934 hours( 86164 seconds), for geostationary orbit only one orbital radius is suitable that will result in equalling this time.by trial and eror:example radius (r), calculate v, then: time (seconds) = (2*pi*r) / vrepeat until time = 86164 secondsworks out at approx 42 164 000 metres radius

How f g m mr² changes to g g mr²?

As per Newton's Law of gravitation F = G * M * m/R^2 But also F = mg Thus, mg = G * M * m/R^2. In this equation m and m will cancel out to get the final result as: g = G * M/R^2.

How does the mass of the planet link to the amount of gravity?

F = G*m(planet)*m(object)/(r^2) where F is the gravitational force G is the gravitational constant m is mass r is the distance between the object and the center of the planet g = G*m(planet)/(r^2) where g is the acceleration due to gravity.

Variation of g with depth and terrain?

Variation of "g" with height:Consider the body which is at height h from the surface of earth whose radius is considered to be R .Let the mass of earth be M .so,acceleration due to gravity acted on a body at surface of earth = GM / R 2or, g = GM / R 2 ............ ... ... ... (i)again,acceleration due to gravity acted on a body at the height h above the surface of earth = GM / (R+h)2or, g ' = GM / (R+h) 2 ... ... ... ... ... (ii)Now, dividing (i) by (ii), we get,g/g ' = (GM / R 2 ) / (GM / (R + h) 2 )or, g/g ' = (GM x (R+h) 2 ) / (GM x R 2 )or, g/g ' = (R+h) 2 / R 2or, g/g ' = (R/R + h/R) 2or, g/g ' = (1+h/R) 2or g ' = g(1+h/R) -2Now, expanding binomially, we get,or, g ' = g(1- 2h/R)Variation of g with depth:Consider the body at the depth of x from the surface of earth whose mass is considered to be M and radius to be R .But at this situation body will experience acceleration due to gravity only by that mass in which it is standing. Let that mass is considered to be M ' . Similarly radius will be (R-x).Now, acceleration due to gravity at the surface of earth = GM / R 2or, g = GM / R 2 ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... (i)Similarly, acceleration due to gravity below the depth of x from surface of earth = GM ' / (R-x) 2or, g ' = GM ' / (R-x) 2 ... ... ... ... ... ... (ii)Dividing (ii) by (i), we get,g '/ g =( GM ' / (R-x) 2 ) / (GM / R 2 )or, g '/ g = M ' R 2 / (M (R-x) 2 )... ... ... ... (iii)Now, Density of earth ( ρ ) = M/Vρ = M/ (4/3 π R 3 )M = ρ x (4/3 π R 3 ) ... ... ... ... (iv)Density of earth below x meter from the surface of earth (ρ) = M '/V 'ρ = M ' / (4/3 π (R - x) 3 )M ' = ρ x (4/3 π (R - x) 3 ) ... ... ... (v)Putting (iv) and (v) in (iii), we get,g '/ g = (ρ x (4/3 π (R - x) 3 ) x R 2 )/ ( ρ x (4/3 π R 3 ) (R-x) 2 )or, g ' = g(1- x/R)

What do the M and R on Danish coins stand for?

I am 99% certain that M and R are on the coins, because they are the initials of the Danish Queen, Dronning Margrethe Rex (rex means king in latin, I think)
