For black and white, it will pass more of it's complementary color (in the blue range) thereby darkening blue sky with less effect on white clouds, for instance. The net effect will be increased contrast between blues and reds. The white clouds appear to become more pronounced, but that is due to the darkening of the sky. Orange filters will do this more than a y2 yellow would, but not as much as a red.
