Why is your oil milky?

Milky oil is an indication a water in the oil. Could be from a failed headgasket, a leaking oil cooler, ir a malfunctioning pcv system. Continuing to drive that vehicle in that condition will do serious damage to the internal parts and shorten the life of the engine greatly.

Why is Oil in radiator Head gasket is not blown?

Can you tell what kind of oil it is? ie: is the oil red? Many automatic transmissions use an oil cooler internally in the bottom/side tank of the radiator. If this has ruptured inside the rad, it will be leaking ATF into the coolant. Check your transmission level, and see if it is down. Easiest and cheapest fix is to take the two cooler lines off and loop them together, and then plug up the fittings on the radiator. I would only advise this on an older vehicle you do not tow or haul heavy loads in. The next option would be to install an auxilliary oil cooler in front of the rad, hook your lines up to that, and again plug up the fittings on the radiator. What kind of vehicle and engine is it? Many diesel engines use an engine oil cooler, that also will push oil into the cooling system if it leaks internally. Only solution in that case is installing a new cooler. Hope this helps, but could give better info with more detail from your side. Good luck

How do you fix a leak behind the oil filter housing on a 92 Honda prelude?

The piece behind the oil filter is an oil cooler I believe. My 92 prelude had the same problem. There is a O ring behind the oil cooler. To remove the oil cooler, first remove the oil filter. Now follow the threads back on where the oil filter screws on, there should be a large bolt. The bolt on mine was pretty tough and required a large socket. I think I rented one from autozone, there are normally for removing drive axle bolts, don't remember the size though. Once the oil cooler is removed - replace the o-ring. There should be some lines that attach to the oil cooler that allow antifreeze to go through, but I don't remember if those had to be removed or not, it was about 8 years ago that I did this.

Does a 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette have an oil cooler?

Yes, the 2000 Olds Silouette has an engine oil cooler, as well as a transmission oil cooler for the automatic tranny. The engine oil cooler is built in to the engine oil filter housing. Water/coolant enters from the engine block, circulates around the filter housing and exits through a tube to the lower intake manifold. If an engine starts getting oil in the coolant and coolant in the engine oil, this could very well be the source of the problem. An internal leak.

How is there transmission fluid in your radiator?

What is the function of the oil cooler on a 2001 Volkswagen Passat and is it a major repair?

An oil cooler extends the life of an engine by specifically keeping the oil 'cooler' that what the regular cooling system can do (which is designed to cool the entire engine). If your car has some SEEPAGE around the cooler and/or lines that is not the end of the world; but if it LEAKS repair it. Since it is external to the engine I would not expect it to be a major repair.
