In the renaissance, artists wanted make their art more realistic. They studied light and anatomy. This gave their art more life and depth. They also included background. They became great observers of the world. But at a great cost. They set limits to the medieval artist's imagination and thus they became more shallow.

i think the renaissance was greatly influenced by art because it was a period of wealth and success and everyone was interested in the next big thing, art was it. Raphael especially had a great influence being and architect and artist. Also, he did something no ones ever done before in his paintings he represented his teachers and himself. He showed the world who he was helped by and who helped him reach his highest success. I believe art greatly influenced the renaissance because it was beautiful it had more then one meaning and helped people think past the picture itself into a deeper meaning. Peoples thoughts and ideas helped contribute into what has become of the renaissance so thanks to Raphael and all the other great influential renaissance artists or the renaissance would have probably never been as beautiful and peaceful time period as it did. Although at first his was my question as well if you think about it a person is always influenced by their surroundings and it just so happens that ours then was art. I believe without art during the renaissance art wouldn't have flourished into what it has become of today. People may not think of it as they do now a days. i believe that without art our creativity and liveliness would be gone.

Linear perspective was developed in the Late Middle Ages, a time lasting from 1300 to 1453 (though different historians give slightly different dates). This was also the time of the beginning of the Renaissance.

Linear perspective is a system that is used to make photograph-like renderings of objects. It requires a thorough understanding of, and adherence to, the technique, which happens to be very mathematical. The artists of the Italian Renaissance discovered that the world they saw could be described in mathematical terms, for the purpose of producing great art.

Great Renaissance artists studied mathematics so they could understand art. They went further and studied other sciences as well, including anatomy and other studies of Biology. Ultimately, this led to the production of the "Renaissance person," of whom Leonardo da vinci is one example, a person who could be an artist, an inventor, and an engineer at the same time.

Some of the artists, of the time came to believe that the world could be understood in strictly mathematical terms. This was an idea that seemed quite acceptable to many mathematicians, scientists, and philosophers. Perfection, not only in the arts, but in other areas of life as well, seemed attainable through some rational process.
